One of my patients tonight absolutely hates women. During handover morning staff let me know that he refused all cares. Was verbally abusive and had tried to hit the nursing staff with his walker.
One of the junior doctors had our back. He went in, told him he had to have a shower (he was grossly incontinent of faeces) and then the medical student showered him! Kudos to him! Best surprise.
